Case Overview
A Nepali contractor works across the valley and hill areas, on institutional buildings and larger homes with very different roofs. Rather than keep a different collector for each, they asked Millionsun to supply one collector with mounting designs for tiled roofs, flat roofs and open ground, and to make the supply suit local logistics: narrow stairs, hand-carrying and local steel fabrication.
Client Requirements
The partner wanted to reduce the number of products they stocked and make each project easier to deliver.
- Mounting flexibility: tiled roof, flat-roof and ground options on one collector range.
- Hand-carry handling: parts light and compact enough to take to rooftops without cranes.
- Temperature swings: strong daytime sun and cold nights, with well-insulated collectors.

Our Solution
We gave the partner one collector and a set of adaptable mounting designs.
- Standard flat plate collector: the same collector used on all mounting types, to keep spares simple.
- Frame drawings: fabrication drawings for steel support frames, so the partner could have them made locally to suit each roof.
- Hand-carry packaging: single cartons with corner protection, sized for narrow staircases.
- Split system components: pump station, controller and tank for sites needing mains-pressure hot water.
- Documentation pack: collector data and installation instructions in English, for the partner to adapt for its own clients.
