Case Overview
Dutch homes have traditional tiled roofs, dormers and often rooftop PV, while winter sun is low and weak. A Dutch installer wanted a flat plate split system that would sit neatly on these roofs and connect to existing heating. Millionsun adapted the collector, the mounting kit and the indoor cylinder as one package, with documentation that the installer could use with their own customers.
Client Requirements
The partner had high expectations for finish and compatibility, since Dutch customers compare closely with local products.
- Fit on tiled roofs: an in-line layout on traditional Dutch tiles, next to dormers, chimneys and PV panels.
- Low-sun performance: well-insulated collectors, since much of the year is low-light and cool.
- Loft-friendly cylinder: a cylinder that fits a loft or utility space with a port layout suited to local heating practice.
- Clean documentation: manuals and data in a form the installer can use for local approvals and for their own customers.
Our Solution
We prepared the collector, mounting kit and cylinder as a package designed for this housing type.
- Collector adaptation: well-insulated flat plate collectors with plain aluminium frames that blend with roof tiles.
- Tile mounting kit: hook brackets with rails for installation on existing Dutch roof tiles.
- OEM indoor cylinder: stainless steel cylinder with heat exchanger coil and insulation, ports arranged for loft installation.
- Pre-wired controller and pump station: for simple connection to the collector loop.
- Documentation: installation manual and technical data prepared with the partner, so they can adapt them for their market.
