Case Overview
A Malaysian distributor sold through a network of small plumbing and electrical installers whose skills varied widely. Mistakes in pipework and wiring were the main source of complaints. They asked Millionsun to build a split system kit that was as pre-assembled as possible, so that the work left for each installer was simple and hard to get wrong.
Client Requirements
The distributor wanted to improve the consistency of installations they could not directly supervise.
- Fewer site decisions: pump station and controller supplied pre-assembled, to reduce site plumbing.
- Clear identification: every connection and cable identified so an installer can follow it without calling for help.
- Compact indoor tank: a vertical tank that suits the many layouts in local houses, from utility rooms to covered outdoor areas.
- Own-brand presentation: labels and manuals carrying the distributor’s name.
Our Solution
We rebuilt the packaging and assembly of the kit around the installer’s likely mistakes.
- OEM tank: stainless steel tank with internal coil and polyurethane insulation, pressure tested and carrying the distributor’s label.
- Pre-assembled pump station: pump, flow meter, safety valve and gauge fitted on one bracket.
- Labelled wiring and pipes: numbered connections matched to the installation sheet.
- Expansion vessel included: supplied in the kit and colour-coded, so it is not forgotten on site.
- Installer manual: short, illustrated manual prepared with the distributor’s technical staff, in the format they preferred.
